ferraus chorus

Chorus (or chorus/flanger blend)

Synopsis

ferraus chorus <input> [options] [-o <output>]

What it does

Several slowly modulated delay voices thicken the sound; stereo channels get offset LFO phases for width. --mode flanger blends in flanger character (shorter delays with feedback).

This command is also an fx stage and a pipeline op: ferraus fx in.wav -o out.wav --fx "chorus:key=value".

Examples

Classic two-voice chorus

ferraus chorus gtr.wav -o gtr_chorus.wav

Lush four-voice chorus

ferraus chorus synth.wav --voices 4 --depth 5ms --rate 0.4Hz --mix 40% -o lush.wav

Single-voice, subtle chorus that keeps a bass solid

ferraus chorus bass.wav --voices 1 --depth 2ms --mix 30% -o bass_chorus.wav

Chorus/flanger blend for a swirling keyboard

ferraus chorus keys.wav --mode flanger --rate 0.2Hz -o keys_swirl.wav

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting that outputs are never overwritten: pass --overwrite or a new -o path when re-running.
  • Beat-based times (4b, 1/4) need a tempo: pass --bpm or write 4b@120.
  • Percentages accept 80% or the fraction 0.8; a bare 80 means 80x, not 80%.
