ferraus highpass

High-pass filter

Synopsis

ferraus highpass <input> [options] [-o <output>]

What it does

Removes content below --freq. --order 2 is 12 dB/oct; higher orders are Butterworth (6 dB/oct per order). --q shapes the corner of an order-2 filter (0.707 = flat Butterworth).

This command is also an fx stage and a pipeline op: ferraus fx in.wav -o out.wav --fx "highpass:key=value".

Examples

Remove rumble below 80 Hz

ferraus highpass vox.wav -o vox_hp.wav

Steep sub-sonic filter

ferraus highpass kick.wav --freq 30Hz --order 4 -o kick_clean.wav

Clear the low end for the bass, with a small bump at the corner

ferraus highpass guitar.wav --freq 120Hz --q 1.2 -o guitar_hp.wav

Remove desk thumps and air-conditioning rumble from a batch of recordings

ferraus highpass episodes/*.wav --freq 70Hz --outdir hp/
