ferraus guitar
Guitar amp chain: compressor, tone filter, distortion, cabinet
Synopsis
ferraus guitar <input> [options] [-o <output>]
What it does
A guitar-rig chain: optional compress for sustain, a pre-emphasis filter, drive into a 4x-oversampled waveshaper (clean, crunch, or lead voicing), a tone filter, and a speaker cabinet: your impulse response file with --cab (FFT convolution) or a built-in 4x12-style cabinet filter. The output level is matched to the input.
This command is also an fx stage and a pipeline op: ferraus fx in.wav -o out.wav --fx "guitar:key=value".
Examples
Crunch amp with the built-in cabinet
ferraus guitar di.wav -o amped.wav
Lead tone through your own cabinet impulse response
ferraus guitar di.wav --amp lead --cab 4x12.wav --drive 34dB --mix 80% -o lead.wav
Clean amp with no compressor, for open, dynamic chords
ferraus guitar di.wav --amp clean --compress off -o clean.wav
Crunch with a darker, mid-forward tone filter
ferraus guitar di.wav --amp crunch --filter lowpass:4kHz,peak:800Hz:+2dB -o mid.wav
