ferraus enhance-voice

Vocal enhancer: rumble filter, de-plosive, de-ess, compression, presence

Synopsis

ferraus enhance-voice <input> [options] [-o <output>]

A preset chain for a voice: a high-pass for rumble, a de-plosive that ducks low-frequency bursts (p and b pops) only while they happen, then the deess, compress, and presence eq commands with settings for the chosen voice type. 'music' is gentler and suits a sung vocal in a mix. The metrics list every stage and its settings.

This command is also an fx stage and a pipeline op: ferraus fx in.wav -o out.wav --fx "enhance-voice:key=value".

Examples

Clean up a male speaking voice

ferraus enhance-voice podcast.wav -o vox.wav

Gentle polish for a sung vocal

ferraus enhance-voice vocal.wav --mode music --mix 70% -o vox.wav

Settings tuned for a higher speaking voice

ferraus enhance-voice host.wav --mode female -o host_clean.wav

Process every episode in a folder

ferraus enhance-voice episodes/*.wav --mode male --outdir enhanced/

Options

Common mistakes

Forgetting that outputs are never overwritten: pass --overwrite or a new -o path when re-running.
